Sex – 10 times more effective than any drug

Make sex the vital root of health and happiness in your daily life. There are immense benefits of sex such as pleasure, satisfaction and above all, it keeps you healthy. Up to 200 calories can be burnt if you engage in energetic sexual activities. I will be going into details of why your sex life is a very important part of you…

Sex reduces the risk of heart diseases
Take the case of women. Till they are 40, heart diseases are rare amongst them. But once they cross the age of menopause, the heart walls thicken, arteries stiffen and women become more prone to heart diseases. But you know what; an active sex life can make matters easier for you. Researchers at the Queen’s University say that making love three or more times a week helps women as well as men stay away from many diseases relating to the heart.

Improved sense of smell
The production of the hormone prolactin surges after sex and this causes stem cells in the brain to develop new neurons in the brain’s olfactory bulb, its smell center.

Weight loss, overall fitness

A vigorous sexual encounter is the same as running 15 minutes on a treadmill or playing a spirited game of squash. Sex increases the production of testosterone which leads to stronger bones and muscles.

Sex as a Pain Reliever
During sex the hormone oxytocin is secreted in your body which in turn causes the release of endorphins {natural pain and stress fighters}. Because of these natural opiates, sex acts as a powerful analgesic, elevating the pain threshold and helping to relieve the aches of conditions like arthritis, whiplash and headaches.

Sex reduces Stress / improves Sleep and Relaxation
Frequent sex relaxes you. Researchers indicate that couples sleep more deeply and peacefully after satisfied sex. At this hour you may be able to let go of distracting thoughts that might hinder sleep.
There is more to health than just exercises and a well balanced diet. So, it is important to engage in active love making at least thrice a week as the benefits you mold out of this pleasurable act is truly significant in your healthy life.

Couple bonding

A happy sexual life brings couple closer in marriage. It brings sexual satisfaction and emotional happiness and in turn boosts your health.

How Do I Gain Weight?

The high prevalence of obesity and overweight problems in our society means much more importance is placed on losing weight rather than gaining weight. It is easy to forget about people who have the problem of being too thin.

Eating disorders, chronic diseases can result in one being underweight and it is also a concern for athletes and naturally thin people who wish to be bigger, stronger, and more muscular. Elderly people can also become underweight.

While being overweight or obese is a well-known risk factor for chronic diseases, being too thin may also increase a person's risk of dying from diseases such as heart failure and cancer. Elderly women who are underweight may become frail, which means they are more likely to suffer from osteoporosis and hip fractures. Being underweight may also increase a man's chance of erectile dysfunction.
I know you might be saying, ‘really’. Well it’s true!

What to Eat To Gain Weight

Increasing your intake of junk foods is not a good way to gain weight. Junk foods usually contain unhealthy trans fats or saturated fats. Even though you need to increase your calorie consumption to gain weight, those calories should come from foods that are good for you.

Healthy fats include omega-3 essential fatty acids sources like tuna, salmon and walnuts. Good sources of protein include lean meats, fish, poultry, nuts, seeds and legumes. Healthy carbohydrate sources include fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

It may be easier to eat five or six smaller balanced meals per day rather than eating three large meals, especially if you are not used to eating much at one sitting.

Protein powders and nutritional supplement drinks such as Complan can be added as in-between meal snacks if you still need more calories. Some protein powders are flavored and only need added water and some others can be blended with your choice of juice or milk to improve the taste.

Dietary Supplements and Weight Gain

A high-quality multivitamin and mineral supplement is a good idea to make sure you are getting all of the vitamins and minerals you need. Some people find that their muscle mass increases with protein supplements that contain certain blends of amino acids such as creatine and glutamine. Some people who are very ill may need liquid nutritional preparations that are available through their doctors.

Resistive Exercise to Gain Weight

Exercise is also important for healthy weight gain. Yes, exercise!! Resistance training exercises such as lifting weights will help to increase your muscle size.

Aerobic exercises such as running and stationary bicycling are better for fat loss and excessive aerobic training may cause you to lose more weight. Resistance training can be done at a health club, gym or at home with the proper equipment.

Remember that it can take a while to gain the weight you need, but be patient and continue to choose healthy foods until you reach your goal weight. It is achievable.

Find the man with the bad breath

See if you can find the man who is causing catastrophe with his bad breath.

Bad Breath

Certain foods, such as garlic and onions, contribute to obnoxious breath odor. Once the food is absorbed into the bloodstream, it is transferred to the lungs, where it is expelled. Brushing, flossing and mouthwash will only mask the odor temporarily.

Odors continue until the body eliminates the food. Starvation and infrequent eating may also cause unpleasant breath.

Bad breath can also be caused by remnants of food particles left in the mouth which collect bacteria. Food that collects between the teeth, on the tongue and around the gums can rot, leaving an unpleasant odor. Dentures {artificial teeth} that are not cleaned properly can also harbor odor-causing bacteria and food particles.

Bad breath is also caused by dry mouth (xerostomia), which occurs when the flow of saliva decreases. Saliva is necessary to cleanse the mouth and remove particles that may cause mouth odor. Tobacco products cause bad breath, stained teeth, reduce one's ability to taste foods and irritate gum tissues.

Persistent bad breath is one of the warning signs of periodontal l{gum} disease.

What You Can Do

Regular checkups will allow your dentist to detect any problems such as periodontal (gum) disease, a dry mouth or other disorders that may be the cause. Maintaining good oral hygiene, eliminating periodontal (gum) disease and scheduling regular professional cleanings are essential to reducing bad breath.

If you have extensive build-up of plaque, an invisible layer of bacteria, your dentist may recommend using a special antimicrobial mouthrinse. Your dentist may also recommend that when you brush your teeth, you also brush your tongue to remove excess plaque.

Good oral hygiene is essential. Brush twice a day and clean between your teeth daily with floss or interdental cleaners. Brush your tongue, too. If you wear dentures, be sure to remove them at night and clean them thoroughly before replacing them the next morning.

The most important thing is keeping your mouth clean to prevent mouth odour!

PRECAUTIONS TO TAKE BEFORE YOU USE THAT BLACKBERRY OR IPHONE

Cell phones have been found to contain a certain amount electromagnetic radiation. These are some precautions that can be taken to reduce our absorption of electromagnetic radiation:

1. Do not allow children to use a cell phone except for emergencies. The developing organs of a fetus or child are the most likely to be sensitive to any possible effects of exposure to electromagnetic fields.

2. While communicating using your cell phone, try to keep the cell phone away from the body as much as possible. The amplitude of the electromagnetic field is one fourth the strength at a distance of two inches and fifty times lower at three feet.
Whenever possible, use the speaker-phone mode or a wireless bluetooth headset, which has less than 1/100th of the electromagnetic emission of a normal cell phone. Use of a headset attachment may also reduce exposure.

3. Avoid using your cell phone in public places, like a bus, where you can passively expose others to your phone's electromagnetic fields.

4. Avoid carrying your cell phone on your body at all times. Do not keep it near your body at night such as under the pillow or on a bedside table, particularly if pregnant. You can also put it on "flight" or "off-line" mode, which stops electromagnetic emissions.

5. If you must carry your cell phone on you, it is preferable that you orient the keypad toward your body and the back is positioned toward the outside of your body. Depending on the thickness of the phone this may provide a minimal reduction of exposure.

6. Keep your conversations short. Only use your cell phone to establish contact or for conversations lasting a few minutes as the biological effects are directly related to the duration of exposure. For longer conversations, use a land line with a corded phone, not a cordless phone, which uses electromagnetic emitting technology similar to that of cell phones.

7. Switch ears regularly while communicating on your cell phone to spread out your exposure. Before putting your cell phone to the ear, wait until your correspondent has picked up. This limits the power of the electromagnetic field emitted near your ear and the duration of your exposure.

8. Avoid using your cell phone when the signal is weak or when moving at high speed, such as in a car or train, as this automatically increases power to a maximum as the phone repeatedly attempts to connect to a new relay antenna.

9. When possible, communicate via text messaging rather than making a call, limiting the duration of exposure and the proximity to the body.

How Much Exercise Do You Need?

Experts recommend that you do 20 to 30 minutes of aerobic activity three or more times a week because of its health benefits. However, most times we do not exercise for as long as one month which in turn does no good to our bodies.

If you have been inactive for a while, you may want to start with less strenuous activities such as walking or swimming at a comfortable pace. Beginning at a slow pace will allow you to become physically fit without straining your body. Once you are in better shape, you can gradually do more strenuous activity.

Begin with Moderate-intensity Activity
Moderate-intensity activities includes some of the things you may already be doing during a day or week.

These are some examples: A short walk around the block, Playing actively with the kids, Walking up the stairs instead of taking the elevator, Taking an activity break -- get up and stretch or walk around, Parking your car a little farther away from your destination and walking the extra distance

The point is not to make physical activity an unwelcome chore, but to make the most of the opportunities you have to be active.

Aerobics Exercises
Aerobic activity involves continuous activity or exercise that is long in duration but low in intensity, allowing the body to replenish needed oxygen. Aerobic exercise activities are gentle rhythmic exercises that involve low-intensity activity in a way to improve oxygen consumption of the body.
Examples include: Stair Climbing, Working the treadmill, Stationary bicycle, Indoor rower, Stairmaster, Cycling, Nordic Walking, Kickboxing and Rope skipping.

Stretching and Strengthening Exercises
Stretching and strengthening exercises such as weight training should also be a part of your physical activity program. In addition to using calories, these exercises strengthen your muscles and bones and help prevent injury.

Jokes

RECTUM DEODORANT
A blonde walks into a pharmacy and asks the assistant for some rectum deodorant.

The pharmacist, a little bemused, explains to the woman that they don't sell rectum deodorant and never have.

Unfazed, the blonde assures the pharmacist that she has been buying the stuff from this store on a regular basis and would like some more.

"I'm sorry," says the pharmacist, "We don't have any."

'But, I always buy it here,' says the blonde.

"Do you have the container that it came in?" asks the pharmacist.

"Yes," said the blonde, "I'll go home and get it."

She returns with the container and hands it to the pharmacist who looks at it and says to her, "This is just a normal stick of underarm deodorant."

Annoyed, the blonde snatches the container back and reads out loud from the container...
"IT SAYS QUITE CLEARLY HERE ... TO APPLY, PUSH UP BOTTOM."

Hilarious, innit it.
Thank God for wisdom and understanding. LOL!

Corn: A Vegetable

The variety of corn common to Nigeria is the yellow corn. The yellow corn is in season now, so indulge yourselves and eat moderate amounts of corn before it goes out of season.

Corn is not only great in taste but it also has immense health benefits. The yellow corn is high in carotenoid {beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, gamma-carotene, and beta-cryptoxanthin} and lutein.

Carotenoid has vitamin A activity and also acts as anti- oxidants. The lutein in yellow corn and yellow corn food products can protect against heart disease and macular degeneration {macula degeneration is loss of vision in the eye typically seen in older adults}

Corn is low in saturated fat and cholesterol, as well as sodium. It's also a good source of dietary fiber, vitamin B1, B5, C, E, folic acid, magnesium and phosphorus.

Folate in corn helps the generation of new cells, especially important before and during pregnancy.

The fiber in corn is good for those suffering from common digestive ailments, like constipation and hemorrhoids because it aids bowel movement.

The beta-cryptoxanthin in corn is good for the health of the lungs and may even help prevent lung cancer.

I think these are enough reasons to eat corn.

So what are you waiting for, go get you corn, either boiled or roasted corn.

Indigestion: The Queasy Feeling in Your Stomach

I had indigestion yesterday. It was not funny at all. When i woke up, it was as if a hundred butterflies where in my stomach. I thought maybe it was because i had not gone to the 'white house' to offload. Well, that was not the reason, the food i ate the night before had not digested properly.

So, what is indigestion?
Indigestion simply put is stomach upset. It could be as a result of eating too much food, eating too fast and eating food that does not 'agree' with your system. Smoking, alcohol, stress and insomnia does not help matters at all. It worsens the indigestion.

These are some feelings you might experience{symptoms}:
- Pain or burning in your upper belly - usually in the middle
- Nausea {an urge to vomit}
- Bloating {that too full feeling where your stomach sticks out}
- Burping that is so hard to control.

What can you do to prevent indigestion:
- Avoid problem foods i. e. foods you have noticed that does not agree with your system.
- Avoid eating large meals but several small meals.
- Avoid too many citrus fruits{ the acid in this fruits can upset the digestive}.
- Eat slowly and make sure you chew your food.
- QUIT smoking or DON'T start smoking.
- Reduce stress and find means of relaxation.
- Don't eat a large meal before going to bed or engaging in serious activities such as sports to give your meal time to digest.

You might do all these and still have indigestion once in a while. Please do not forget to say "excuse me" when you burp uncontrollably.

Mother who has never smoked a cigarette has terminal lung disease because of her parents' 60-a-day habit

A mother is suffering from a terminal smoking disease - even though she has never had a cigarette in her life.

Lynda Mitchell, 52, is dying from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, but has always despised tobacco.

The mother of one blames the illness on her parents who each puffed 60 cigarettes a day.

The former factory worker yesterday issued a stark warning to parents about the hazards of smoking around their children.

Lynda, of Withywood, Bristol, said: 'I will die from second hand smoke and I have never smoked in my life.

'My mum used to get up in the morning and light a cigarette. She smoked about 60 a day.

'I'd get up in the morning and the first thing that would hit me when I walked down the stairs was the vile smell of smoke. I would cough and cough until I was nearly sick.

'Nobody realised the devastating effects of smoking 50 years ago, they just thought it was fashionable.

'As I got older the information started to filter down about how smoking is bad for you and I was desperate for her to stop as a teenager.

'When mum realised what I had she stopped smoking indoors, but that was the 90s really. The damage was already done. I was finished.'

One cigarette in your car, even with the window down, is like forcing a child to spend an evening in a nightclub full of smokers.'

Hope y'all learn from this. You are not only harming yourself but also your children who inhale secondhand smoke. Please think about this young ones, they do not need to suffer for what they did not do.
